My Professional Edge - Jaime Eull

Jaime Eull
Vendor Performance Coordinator, Target Corp.
Keller degree: Master of Project Management (MPM)

My career

As a Vendor Performance Coordinator for one of the country's best known retailers, I work with suppliers regarding quality, customer service, performance metrics and program support. I am an essential liaison between Target and our vendors.

My job includes day-to-day operations oversight of the outsourcing vendors. I maintain tracking, monitoring and reporting of vendor performance and ensure internal and external processes are parallel. I am responsible for forecasting outsourcing expenses, monitoring budget performance and auditing monthly expenses through invoice and accrual processing. It's a key position to make sure that merchandise is on the shelves of Target stores ready for our customers.

Within my team at Target I have strived for each member's career growth because I feel that reflects on my leadership. I developed a specific career path for each of my team members and have helped several of them get promoted throughout the company. I have received several awards for my leadership skills and abilities.

Volunteer service

Target chose me to go to Target House and the St. Jude Hospital, a center in Memphis for research and treatment of catastrophic diseases in children, primarily pediatric cancers, to help put together a carnival for the children. Target House is a place for the children and their families to stay while in long term treatment. You cannot help but walk away from there without feeling like you accomplished something great and you know you left an impression on someone's life.

Educational stepping stones

Before returning to Keller for my master's degree, I struggled for several years to make a career change and move up in the company. With an emphasis on higher education in our company I decided to go back to school. Shortly after I completed my master's degree program I was promoted to my current position. I'm now seen as a resource for other areas on project execution and time management. It has made me a stronger candidate for future opportunities. I'm very proud of my educational accomplishments.

The real key takeaway from my Keller degree program is the importance of education. I also volunteer with children who are below national standards to get them to the appropriate reading and math levels, which has shown me that education is also a great blessing. I plan to continue spreading the word about the value of education. When you work hard for something and reach your goal, there is a great sense of accomplishment.

Why Keller?

Keller had the Project Management degree program I was looking for and the school offered a flexible schedule with many online courses. But more importantly, Keller had a degree program that helps me do my job better. With my focus in project management, I was able to incorporate lessons that I had learned to make project execution more productive. By learning about developing a scope and tracking a project plan, I now incorporate those tasks to better manage my time and focus.
