2006-2007 Capstone Project Award Recipients
Each year Keller recognizes the most outstanding capstone project in each masters degree program with a nationwide achievement award. Keller proudly recognizes and congratulates the 2006-2007 award recipients:
- Kagan-Rollhaus Business Administration Capstone Award Winners: Emmanuel Twumasi, James McCollum and Ronald Thomas, a team from Houston Metro. Their winning business plan, Fruity Fresh Ghana, provides an interesting strategy cultivating and exporting mangoes to the European Union. It also supports the Government of Ghanas poverty reduction program by providing jobs.
- Lee Hecht Harrison Human Resource Management Capstone Award Winner: Pamela Baldwin, an Online student from Florida. Her capstone project focused on the Southwest Florida Water Management Districts (her current employers) HR function, identifying areas for improvement and offering an action plan along with success indicators.
- The Exelon Project Management Capstone Award Two teams shared the award: Steven Strong who attended Kellers Schaumburg Center and Nadia Shafiullah and Alice Ndungu, recent graduates from Fremont. Stevens winning project, Alpha: New Manufacturing Facility for Prince Diagnostics, Inc., presents a plan for consolidating operations from the two existing locations of Prince Diagnostics, Inc., a manufacturer of medical diagnostic equipment, into a single new location that will become a nationwide headquarters. Nadia and Alices winning project, Automotive Parts, Inc., upgrades an outdated manufacturing facility into a state-of-the-art automated process and presents a plan for expanding the market through product diversification.
- The Hewlett Packard Information Systems Management Capstone Award Winners: Michelle Bowden, Tahnee Casanova, Kristin Douglas and Tim Kish, a team of Online students from locations across the U.S. The winning project, Wireless Waiters, introduced a wireless technology that allows consumers to use a Tablet PC to browse regularly updated menus electronically, place orders, which are sent directly to the kitchen to be prepared and continuously update/change the menu based on the kitchen inventory.
- The Sprint Nextel Network and Communications Management Capstone Award Winners: Cristian Martinez and Patrick Lund, Online students. Their winning project, Travel Incorporated, identifies a new telecommunication network and implementation plan to meet current and future needs of a recently merged corporation that provides national travel arrangements for the business sector.
- The Becker CPA Accounting and Financial Management Capstone Award Winner: Erica Rose Smith, from the Orlando North Center. Ericas project, JBM Accounting Manual, Procedures and Processes, provided comprehensive coverage on accounting department duties and responsibilities, procedures, performance reports, 5-year forecast model, cash flow report, employee benefits policies and procedures, due diligence checklist and insurance coverage summary.
