Apply for Financial Aid in Six Easy Steps with our Financial Aid Checklist

To apply for a Federal Stafford or PLUS Loan, simply follow this six-step financial aid checklist. Most of the application process can be completed online.

1. Apply for a U.S. Department of Education PIN (Personal Identification Number)

You will need a PIN to electronically sign your FAFSA. Online submission of the FAFSA is the fastest way to process your application. Apply now at www.pin.ed.gov.

2. Complete the 2009-2010 Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA)

All Keller students must file a FAFSA form to be considered for federal student financial aid. Complete the FAFSA at www.fafsa.ed.gov

• Be sure to include Keller's school code, G20754, on the FAFSA form.

• Sign your application electronically using your PIN. If you're a dependent student, your parents must also electronically sign the application.

• For your records, print the FAFSA Confirmation Page after submitting your FAFSA on the Web.

3. Complete Federal Stafford and Graduate PLUS Loan Counseling

If this is your first time using education loans, you will need to complete loan entrance counseling to learn more about loan programs and what it means to be a borrower. There is a quiz is designed to help you successfully demonstrate your knowledge.

To complete loan entrance counseling:

• Go to http://www.dl.ed.gov and click on "Entrance and Exit Counseling."
• Under Entrance Counseling, click on "Go."
• Select "Stafford Loan Tutorial and Quiz."
• Choose Keller Graduate School of Management as your school.

4. Complete the Federal Master Promissory Note(s) (MPN)

Students can complete their loan applications online directly through the U.S. Department of Education.

You will need the following items:

• A Department of Education PIN Number:
  You will need to have a PIN number issued from the U.S. Department of Education to complete the MPN on the web. If you do not already have a PIN number, you should apply for one immediately. If you already have a PIN number, but you cannot locate it, click here.
• You will also need:
  • Your Social Security Number
  • Your permanent address and telephone number
  • Your driver's license number
  • Names, addresses, and phone numbers for two references

To complete the Federal Stafford and Grad PLUS MPN:

1. Go to http://dlenote.ed.gov
2. Be sure to review the "What You Need" and "What to Expect" sections of the website.
3. Select "Complete New MPN for Student Loans."
4. Choose either "Subsidized/Unsubsidized Stafford Loan" or "Grad PLUS Loan."
5. In Step 3 of the online MPN, be sure to select Keller Graduate School of Management.

5. Complete Information and Authorization Form

Please complete your Information and Authorization Form on line via the Student Portal at my.devry.edu. Click on "My Financial Aid" and select "Documents."

6. Explore additional financing options

Once your application is processed, you will receive a financial aid award notification via email. You may review your financial aid awards and required documents by visiting my.devry.edu logging in with your Username and password then clicking "My Financial Aid."
